Oone Master is one half of the rap duo, Young Moors. He is a self-proclaimed “90s head” that has been influenced by Hip-Hop greats of the 90s era, Nas, Lauryn Hill, Busta Rhymes, and the Wu-Tang Clan, just to name a few. Oone Master, whose real name, Obon, which translates to “the only one who controls” in Swahili, hopes to bring Hip-Hop back to its essence. The “Chuck D” of this era, Oone Master describes his music as “edu-conscious”, edgy, educational, and socially conscious. “My music is hardcore, educational, and conscious. It teaches people and gives lessons.” Oone Master would like to use his music as a backdrop to help the community. “Hopefully with the right energy and support, we’ll be allowed to serve the people.” Oone Master has yet to release a solo project, but can be heard on the 2007 Street Addiction Mixtape entitled 2 Up 2 Down, and Young Moors 2013 Album, Rapid Eye Movement.
